Stay, hair, stay!

How to keep wigs and facial hair in place

You have a head, and you have a hairpiece.  Here's how to keep the two together without fear of gravity-related malfunctions.

((( Wig application: coming soon!)))

Q. How do I apply a moustache?

A. Spirit gum works best if you intend to wear the moustache for an extended period of time.  Apply a light coat of spirit gum over the entire upper-lip area that the moustache will cover. Use your pinkie finger to dab the glue-covered area until the glue becomes tacky to the touch. Lightly apply moustache, adjust as needed, then press firmly down on moustache to secure it.

Q. How do I apply other facial hair pieces?

A. With the same technique used for the moustache, but without having to cover your entire face in glue. Only use spirit gum on the upper edges of a beard, and perhaps a few strategic dots along the bottom edge.

Q. How do I remove facial hair pieces?

A. We like to use small squares of J-Cloth dipped in 99% Isopropyl (Rubbing) Alcohol, and dabbed on the facial hair to dissolve the spirit gum. DO NOT use cotton balls or Kleenex, as they will leave fibres behind!

Q. How do I clean facial hair pieces?

A. Much of the spirit gum will dissolve naturally when the facial hair is removed, but remaining residue can be removed by dabbing the piece with more alcohol. Facial hair pieces can also be thoroughly disinfected by dipping them in a dish of Isopropyl and allowing them to air-dry.
